As Director of the UNSW Nuclear Innovation Centre, Assoc Professor Edward Obbard leads the UNSW program of nuclear engineering research, education, and social engagement. He is program coordinator of the postgraduate nuclear courses at UNSW and researches nuclear fuel materials that open new design possibilities in high temperature, space and deployable nuclear technology. He is an invited expert for the IAEA member state support program task in Safeguards Applications of Distributed Ledger Technology, and member of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency council of advisors for the NEA Global Forum on Education Science Technology and Policy.
